The foosball table is a popular entertainment product that allows people to enjoy a scaled football game, controlling the players with revolving rods. What sets Pulse apart is its use of acrylic, a material not commonly associated with this type of product. Mula Preta Design has taken this innovative approach and combined it with a sleek and striking design.
Every component of Pulse has been carefully considered and redesigned to fit the project's concept. The wooden players have been transformed into molded acrylic goals, creating a visually stunning effect. The handles and other elements have also been reimagined to enhance the overall aesthetic and functionality of the table.
Pulse is designed for indoor use, providing a joyful and interactive experience for users. The combination of certified TECA (TEAK) wood, acrylic, glass, and metal results in a truly unique and captivating design. The use of TECA wood, a favorite for reforestation due to its availability and ease of industrialization, adds a touch of sustainability to the project.
Measuring 119cm in width, 158cm in depth, and 93cm in height, Pulse is a substantial piece of furniture, weighing 35kg. Its presence commands attention and adds a touch of sophistication to any space.
Creating Pulse presented several challenges for the design team. The biggest hurdle was to redesign a game that is so familiar to many. Mula Preta Design was determined to combine acrylic and wood, but achieving the perfect balance between durability and functionality required extensive research and experimentation. After months of study, the project came to life, showcasing the team's dedication and expertise.
Pulse was exhibited at Fuori Salone 2015, BRAZIL SA, and MADE SP 2015, garnering attention and praise from design enthusiasts. In recognition of its excellence, Pulse was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2016. This prestigious accolade is a testament to the outstanding craftsmanship, innovation, and artistic skill demonstrated by Mula Preta Design.
